Position: Child Care Worker

This post is located in the Child & Youth Program of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The primary responsibility of this role is to offer proper care and instruction to children and teenagers aged 6 weeks to 18 years. Reviewing and offering feedback on schedules and activity plans prepared by entry-level and intermediate level Educational Aids are among the responsibilities. Creates a program atmosphere that keeps participants interested and encourages positive connections with other kids, teens, and adults. Provides program participants with care, supervision, monitoring, and accountability in accordance with DoD, NAF Component, and local installation rules, instructions, and standards. In addition, supervises children and adolescents during their regular routine of indoor and outdoor activities, as well as during weekends.

 Adjunct Instructor, Early Childhood Education



The Adjunct Instructor must maintain a competent level of performance and professional growth while in the position, as well as complete any other job-related activities that may be assigned. The College is looking for candidates who are competent to teach Early Childhood Education. One of the responsibilities is to prepare a syllabus that meets Quincy College criteria, including objectives, mandatory assigned reading, and evaluation procedures.


Job Requirements:


EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA: Master's Degree in the field or related field from an accredited college or university required. Doctoral degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Teaching experience in the subject area at the college level is required, preferably in a community college setting. Substantial working experience in the subject area is a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to education and working with a diverse student population
  • Experience using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning, and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction
  • Online, Hybrid, Remote, or blended teaching experience is highly desirable
  • Experience using multiple measures to assess student learning

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of Quincy College's certification program (Canvas, Quality Matters, TSR) for teaching or, in the sole determination of Quincy College, the equivalent of that program.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated academic excellence as well as compassion and enthusiasm for community college students. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to education and working with a diverse student population.

Job Description

Assisting in the coaching and training of education workers to promote school readiness metrics and program quality are among the responsibilities. Conduct observations in the classroom and offer comments to instructors in order to improve teacher-child relationships. Assist with education component service planning and monitoring. To support component goals, attend workshops, conferences, and other appropriate training.


Job Requirement

A candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, or a related field, such as education, social or behavioral science. A minimum of two years of experience teaching preschool children and /or infants/toddlers is required. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse, educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.

Being an early childhood educator allows you to educate young children on what they need to know in order to succeed in the future. Even if you really do not know it, your actions and words have an impact on them every day. When you smile at them or provide a helping hand, they notice. They imitate your acts, whether they are positive or negative.

Lessons at a preschool are given in a pleasant and interesting way. Young children are provided with a variety of enjoyable activities that assist them in discovering and exploring the world around them. This piques their interest in learning and makes them want to study even more. Children's cognitive, emotional, and social foundations are built using a holistic approach in early childcare.

I believe that the experience gained at Walden has qualified me to teach both children and adults. Besides, working with adults has several advantages, including the ability to teach adult learners since they have a lot of information and experience that you can utilize to assist your pupils to learn other disciplines. Adult students are more prepared to engage in debate and exchange.
