Farewell Team

These past eight weeks have been amazing. My interest was aroused by the stimulating learning resources that I encountered along the way, which allowed me to persevere and develop a  growth mindset as I traverse this professional journey and explore essential skills, components of communication processing. In addition, the myriad of communication competencies, approaches and techniques, and verbal and nonverbal cues along with listening, gestures and expressions have enhanced the way I communicate and will be beneficial as I interact with my students and their families, colleagues, relatives and organisations and agencies.

Besides, understanding how my schema and perception of others can influence how I communicate was eye-opening. The self-assessment brought mind-blowing results to the fore that will help me improve or reexamine my communication skills. In addition, the complexities of intercultural communication have highlighted the significance of culture during interaction and allowed me to value all individuals. Finally, I delved into how communication skills and dispositions are distinct to my early childhood profession through nonviolent communication, conflict resolution, team building, and collaboration. As a result, I was catapulted into another realm on the communication ladder of success, where I consider myself an effective communicator.

The experiences shared by my colleagues, and vice versa, have broadened my scope and allowed me to see situations through the lens and point of view of others. The quote above speaks to our stages of development as a team on a mission with a common goal. In addition, the weekly enriching initial posts and responses from my colleagues’ blogs and discussions have been thought-provoking, encouraging and engaging, especially the way they handled the microaggressions they encountered daily. We have forged excellent interpersonal relationships and shared great memories, which I believe will last a lifetime. All my colleagues have been very professional and respectful on this journey. Kudos to you! I wish to use this medium to express gratitude to Dr Terry Davis for the efficient and effective way she guided us through this course. Also, the high-quality, positive and timely feedback and responses that she provided have not gone unnoticed. Our assignments were graded and returned on time. Thank you, Dr Davis, for displaying true professionalism and being an effective communicator. Thank you, Walden, for this experience and camaraderie.

My amazing colleagues, I wish you all the very best in your endeavours and hope to see you in the subsequent courses as we navigate this journey together. Continue working hard. My email address is malcolm.sherida@gmail.com
